Electrical Commissioning Agent

Experience Qualification:
Minimum of 8 years, full-time experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems. Experience should include one or more of the following: project management, system design, construction and installation, maintenance and trouble shooting and testing. A licensed master electrician in VA, MD, or PA is preferred.

Education/Knowledge:
Minimum of 4 years Electrical Technology degree from an accredited community college or recognized trade school. Must have a thorough knowledge of fundamental electrical system principals for power interruption, grounding, UPS and emergency power for systems Medium and low voltage systems and under as a minimum. Experience with low voltage and signal systems for security, fire safety, intercom, CCTV data and Voice is considered a plus. Must be thoroughly familiar with the Life Safety Code and the 2006 National Electric Code.

Skills and Abilities:
Must be familiar with reading electrical plans and understand power systems distribution and grounding techniques. Must understand ground fault testing and coordination study results. Confined space training is a plus. An electrical contracting license also a plus.

Main Duties:
Project assignments including commissioning plan reviews, perform site observations with documentation in MS Publisher and assist in the field verification process. Candidate must be capable of working on several projects simultaneously. Maintaining accurate project logs; that including phone conversations, meetings, action items, points of agreement, and filing emails communication is required.

Additional Duties:
Continuous training and development, introduction to marketing activities, involvement in professional associations. Work well with others as a team member.

Ability to work independently, seeking guidance and direction when required.
