MBP Awarded Two Projects by the U.S. General Services Administration
New York, New York - McDonough Bolyard Peck, Inc. (MBP) is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to provide professional services for two projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) in New York. MBP will provide construction management (CM) services for phases of the Jacob K. Javits Federal Building Lafayette Plaza reconstruction project and CM and commissioning (Cx) services for the Conrad B. Duberstein U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse modernization project.
"MBP is excited about these two contract wins and we are proud to continue our work on ARRA-funded projects in New York" says George B. Fink, Jr., PE, Branch Manager. "We also look forward to this opportunity to continue to strengthen our relationship with the GSA both in the area and Nationwide."
MBP will provide CM services throughout all phases of the Lafayette Plaza reconstruction project from design through construction to project closeout. MBP's services are needed to provide document coordination, cost estimates and quality control in all stages of the Plaza project.
Additionally, MBP will provide CM and Cx services throughout phases of the Conrad B. Duberstein U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse modernization project. The courthouse is a local historical landmark in the city of New York and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 598,268 gross square foot building occupies an entire city block and houses the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the Offices of the U.S. Trustee, the U.S. Attorney and the U.S. Postal Service. This energy conservation and renewable energy generation project will provide energy savings and production by addressing demand control ventilation, replacing existing chiller and heaters with new energy efficient chillers and boilers, installing variable frequency drives (VFD's) for the cooling towers, installing a 10kw photovoltaic array, and re-lamping existing fixtures and intelligent lighting controls.
The total cost of construction is estimated to be $10 million on each of these projects with construction durations of two years.
