MBP Honored with Multiple Project Achievement Awards
at 2011 CMAA National Conference
MBP received two awards in the Buildings, New Construction category
Washington, DC - MBP celebrated a year of multiple achievements during the awards dinner of the 2011 Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) National Conference at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, DC held this week.
CMAA honored MBP in the category of Buildings, New Construction with a constructed value less than $50 million for the Lois S. Hornsby Middle School and J. Blaine Blayton Elementary School construction program with Williamsburg James-City County Public Schools in Williamsburg, Virginia. MBP successfully managed the simultaneous construction of two schools with a tight schedule of 18 months, completing the job on-time for the school's opening and within the owner's budget.
MBP was also recognized for its efforts as part of the construction management team led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Campus East project in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The team received an award in the category of Buildings, New Construction with a construction value more than $100 million. The $1.4 billion Campus East project has received multiple accolades from industry organizations, and is the largest building yet to receive certification under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
"We are extremely honored to be recognized by our industry peers for our construction management efforts," says Blake V. Peck, PE, CCM, President and COO. "MBP prides itself for being a firm solely dedicated to the CM discipline. These awards represent our achievements in this area and our efforts to distinguish ourselves from competing firms."
